Community Tech Innovation Hub situated at 282 Bai Bureh Road, Freetown, Sierra Leone is a project funded by the Fire starter grant awarded by Sensi Tech Hub to Sierra Leone Advocacy and Development Network (SLADN) in 2017. This is the first ever technology hub established in the east of Freetown to connect a deprived community with the recent technological trends. The establishment of the hub is borne out of the desire to promote technology, innovation and entrepreneurship for deprived youths in the east of Freetown in Sierra Leone. With speculations that Africa will have its largest working population of youths in the near future, it is of vital to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and technology to tackle the high rate of unemployment among youths in Sierra Leone. It should be noted that empowering young people is critical for ending the high percentage of poverty in Sierra Leone. Community Tech Innovation Hub (CTI-Hub) aspires to be the vanguard of charge for deprived, vulnerable and marginalized youths in Wellington and its environs. We envisage that youth empowerment through innovation technology and entrepreneurship is paramount for breaking the vicious cycle of poverty in Sierra Leone.
